Dharmasreshta Award 2012 Presented @ Thiruvananthapuram

Dharmasreshta Award, the highest honor instigated by Kerala Brahmana Sabha state committee dedicated to Late Brahmasree Sresha Vadhyar (Thiruvananthapuram) . This prestigious award instigated in 2007, is awarded to such a person, a reverent scholar who has contributed his / her service for the upliftment or propogation of Sanskrit / Dharmasasthra / Vedas / Upanishads is given in connection with Sri Sankara Jayanthi celebrations every year. In 2012, this award was dedicated to Brahmasree Sresha Vadhyar from Thiruvananthapuram who has devoted his entire life in the field of preaching and teaching Vedas and serving as a Purohit (Vadhyar). It was unfortunate that this great man attained the lotus feet of the almighty. Considering his services in the filed of Vedas and Sanskrit and the visibility that he has spread across to the society through his students and his services, the state committee took the stand to dedicate this prestigious honor to the great man. The award was presented to Sri. Sampath S (son of Brahmasree Sesha Vadhyar ) on the 15th day of May 2013 at  a public function arranged in this regard. Dharmasreshta Dr. M Sambasivan (Former President - Kerala Brahmana Sabha) handed over the citation in sanskrit and the cash award of ten Thousand rupees. The function was chaired by Sri. M Veeramani Iyer (President - KBS Thiruvananthapuram district). Sri. Suresh S ( KBS State Joint Secretary), Sri. Parasuraman S, Sri. Krishnamoorthy C V (both state committee members) and all other office bearers of KBS Thiruvananthapuram district were presented at the gathering. Sri. C S Gopalakrishnan C S (Past State Vice President, Senior Member and current State Committee member) represented Kozhikode district at the function. The function was well attended by a mass of sabha followers and all other well known personalities from the sabha circle as well as the social circle.
