AASTHAANA VIDWAAN Title conferred to Sri. Narayana Prakash

'AASTHAANA VIDWAAN' title conferred to Sri. Narayana Prakash, a leading Mridangam Vidwaan from Kozhikode. This prestigious award is conferred by His Highness Sri. KANCHI KAMAKODI PEETHAM every year towards Classical Music Vocalists and Instrumentalists (Veena, Violin Saxaphone, Harmonium, Flute, Nadaswaram and other instruments in which Classical music is played including Mridangam, Khanjeera, Ghatam, Moorsing and  Thavil artistes), mainly from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It is also conferred to artistes from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, but comparatively less in number. Almost 10 keralites were selected for the Title and Sri. Narayana Prakash was to be the blessed one this year. It is indeed a great thing that we are honoured by our KAANCHI PERIYAVAAL and Kozhikode Kerala Brahmana Sabha shares the success with him. Sri. Narayana Prakash born to Late Smt. Seethalakshmi and Late Sri Ramaswamy V N had his initial training in music under Sri. M N Subramanian and continued his studies under Sri. Cherthala N Sreekumara Varma and Sri. Kumaranalloor V Rajamani. He is continuing his studies under Prof. Parassala Ravi, Senior Vidwaan from Kerala. He has accompanied various well known artists at various stages across Kerala and South India with his Mridangam and is popularly known for his SAMPRADAAYA SUDDHAM (Traditional Purity), Faithfullness in accompaniment, keeping the KAALAPRAMAANAM (Tempo) and in maintaining the SAUKHYAM throughout the concert. Officially he is employed with LIC at the Divisional Office in Kozhikode. He is married to Smt. Subbalakshmi who is a homemaker and they are blessed with One Child Mast. Vivek V N currently pursuing his 9th standard. They reside at Sreeram Sadan near Beypore in Kozhikode district. Kerala Brahmana Sabha once again congralutes him on receiving this prestigious glory.
